My Fellow Americans

Hello, everyone. Reilly Hendrix here.

Before I start this post, just wanted to let you know that I'm usually not a politics guy. Though I might've partaken in politics a few times throughout my journey as a digital artist (mostly conservative, unfortunately), I tried my best to avoid that because it can tend to trigger anybody regardless of their political stance.

Outside my hobby, whenever politics are ever brought up to me, nowadays, I judge a person's politics based on utilitarian morality. If they're good, I respect, tolerate or advocate for them. If they're bad, I protest against them.

Though everybody was spreading different politics here and there, I believe a more utilitarian approach would be to let them speak and then, in return, show them the consequences of their actions, whether good or bad. This is why I like the United States. Sure, it may be flawed, but at least everyone has a say in how things should be run regardless of how agreeable or disagreeable they are.

Now, though? Times have changed.

Things felt uneasy and unreal ever since the 2024 U.S. Election, especially for me. Frankly, I'm rather sad, sickened and embarrassed that I live in a country where people voted for totalitarianism and stupidity over democracy and sanity. I honestly was not surprised when the rest of the world either mocked us or gave us good luck. (By the way, to those around the world who gave us good luck, thank you!)

At this moment, I feel empathy to those who will be impacted in the next (hopefully at most) four years, those being BIPOC, the undocumented, women, queer people, religious minorities, freethinkers, the 99%, environmentalists, scientists, economists, the military, the world, paleoconservatives and, evidently so, liberals. They are trying their damndest to secure their rights from federal, govermental control and, honestly, I don't blame them.

I will not deny that I feared the worse for what will happen to the United States. It overwhelmed me. Then, out of the blue, a moment of clarity struck me. Despite what's happening, the American dream the Founding Fathers fought for against a tyrannical king is still there. Sure, things might change in, give or take, seventy days, but the ideals that built this nation, the Declaration Of Independence, The Bill Of Rights and The Constitution, are still with us.

So, at this point my fellow Americans, I implore you. Appreciate what the blessings of this country has given us that were uniquely better than before and, if you can, fight for it in any utilitarian way possible.

I'll try my best doing the same here. If I ever get convicted because of my politics, if Uncle Sam gives me liberty or gives me death, so be it. From this moment on, I'm ready for whatever this life, this country, this timeline is going to give me.

With all that said, good luck, godspeed, and long live the United States Of America.
